INTINOR AB, market leader in “Video over the Internet” since 2003, presents ideal solutions for contribution and distribution of content to Broadcasters. The swedish company Intinor proposes a point-to-point IP workflow with encoders, routers and receivers that cover all needs.
The encoder - Direkt Link - comes in two families, depending on whether the application is for Web TV, series 300, or for high-quality transmission, series 400. The fundamental difference is that, in the second case, the encoder has correction FEC and UDP output. All branded products can make use of Intinor Bifrost's proprietary protocol (BRT-Bifrost Reliable Transport). There are also two models for the 400 series: Direkt Link 400 and Direkt Link 400+, and you can find below a table with the differences between them, as well as what differs in the Direkt Link 300 line.

All models have pre-configurable constant bit rate (CBR) encoding modes and adaptive encoding parameters for automatic management of the broadband available on a network.
Another highlight of these encoders is the possibility to control each of your Intinor equipment remotely through a web browser; and the ability to save files directly to a USB device. Through the web browser, customers can download the recorded content to any device.
The encoders support both the direct output of HLS or RTMP, to contribute to a CDN, as well as outputs in NDI for incorporation into a workflow in a protocol increasingly used by the industry.
One of the areas in which Intinor is increasingly present is in E-Sports. In this case, with Direct Link Rack + it is possible to distribute the signal from a live competition to Twitch, YouTube or even a transmitter, with two 1080p59.94 signals at 3.5-4.5 Mbit / s.
This solution can also be used for 4K transmission with 360º video or virtual reality with a 2160p signal in H.264.
Intinor's journey has largely focused on analyzing the Direkt Router, a communications hub that allows the reception of up to 18 streams on the 1U device, or 36 IP streams on the 2U unit. With features such as multiple re-coding, pull and push modes, intercom, video tiles, transcoding and optional SDI and NDI I/O. In this sense, more than a signal router, the Direkt Router becomes a hybrid device, capable of being used as an Encoder or Decoder, simultaneously.
Normally, operating over IP means that the broadcasters' system equipment has to open unsafe doors with the usual conflicts that this usually generates. In this situation, Intinor's proposal offers RTMP in push and pull mode. In a pull configuration, there is no need to open doors, so it is extremely easy to connect third party systems with a public address.
But the great highlight of the Direkt Router goes to the “RTMP-Receive” functionality. Instead of having to rely on CDN’s, Direkt Router allows the use of the Public Internet to distribute, contribute or receive Point-to-Point signals. In addition to reducing costs, yours or your customers, the Router works as a “mini-CDN”, resulting in a robust system that allows you to send or receive Broadcast quality signals with the minimum of services contracted to third parties.
In this way, it is possible to create an infrastructure to work on IP, capable of transmitting up to 4 images in 720p (for web) and 4-way communication with a return signal through the Direkt router which, in addition to the signals it sends, also generates mosaics, incorporates logos and makes several referrals.
Regarding processing, Direkt Router allows a conversion of protocols, recoded and transcoded (for example, from 1080i to 720p) with the possibility of inserting Graphics. In cases where a 100% IP environment is not possible, the Router can provide SDI output (up to 8 SDI outputs), 2 × 2 or 4 × 4 multiscreen on HDMI.
In addition to the versatility it brings, the combination of Direkt Link and Direkt Router presents a future-proof ALL-IN-ONE solution.
