Leader celebrates 65 years with major launches of SDI / IP products for truly hybrid test and measurement equipment
Leader Electronics Corporation celebrates its 65th anniversary this year by introducing four new test and measurement products at NAB 2018 from April 7 to 12, 2018: The LV5600 IP and SDI hybrid waveform monitor and the LV7600 equivalent rasterizer, in addition to the portable waveform monitor 12G / 3G / HD / SD-SDI LV5300 and its equivalent rasterizer LV7300.
“Leader has helped many broadcasters and broadcast equipment manufacturers manage their migration from analog to digital, SD to HD and from SDR to HDR,” said company president Kozo Nagao. “Most broadcasters recognize the potential of video over IP both in the studio and in delivering content over long distances. Most will transition to IP through an interim SDI / IP hybrid infrastructure, so they want to deal with SDI and IP in a single test and measurement device. LV5600 truly hybrid UHD / HD / SD waveform monitor and LV7600 rasterizer
The LV5600 from Leader is an SDI / IP waveform monitor powered by the mains in a 3U half-rack chassis with a touch sensitive front panel display. It provides all the functionality necessary to continuously monitor UHD / HD / SD SDI and video over IP signals. The LV5600 includes a broad set of engineering-related features, including standard and test signal generator, eye pattern display, jitter measurement, closed-caption monitoring, CIE color chart, high dynamic range measurement, focus assist, customizable layout, tally interface , 4K / UHD operation, 10G IP input and 12G-SDI interfaces. The SMPTE 2022-6, SMPTE 2022-7 and the recently published SMPTE 2110 protocols are all supported. The LV5600 also incorporates Leader's CINEZONE and CINELITE, which are familiar to many content production teams.
The LV7600 rasterizer offers exactly the same capabilities as the LV5600, in a 1RU full-rack format for easy rack or table mounting.
Leading 12V / 3G / HD / SD-SDI LV5300 portable waveform monitor and LV7300 rasterizer
Also new at NAB are the LV5300 12G / 3G / HD / SD-SDI portable waveform monitor and the LV7300 rasterizer. Designed for use in studios, trucks, post-production facilities and playout, each continues Leader's long tradition of providing products that support operational and engineering testing and measurement requirements in a single instrument. CINEZONE and CINELITE are standard on both products, as well as new optional features including standard and test signal generator, eye pattern display, jitter measurement, closed-caption monitoring, CIE color chart, high dynamic range measurement, focus assistance, layout customizable, counting interface, 4K / UHD operation and 12G-SDI interface.
“The LV5300 and LV7300 are ideal for TV and movies,” adds Kozo Nagao. “The LV5300 replaces the LV5333 which has established itself together with image control technicians and camera assistants as a true Swiss army knife for production on the set. With the addition of the CIE color chart, we anticipate that the LV5300 will become "the" test and measurement tool on the set and that the LV7300 will achieve the same in post-production studios ".
