The General Union of Workers (UGT) has invested in the modernization of the João Proença Auditorium, raising the quality of its meetings and working sessions. The upgrade was carried out by Pantalha, responsible for the entire process - from planning to installation and user training - in close collaboration with UGT. The installation carried out by the trade union center was developed within the scope of Operation No. PESSOAS-FSE+-00022100, funded by the Demography, Skills and Inclusion Programme (PESSOAS 2030), under the Capacity Building for the Partners of the Standing Committee for Social Dialogue (CPCS) operation typology. Pantalha identified the client’s needs and selected the most complete and suitable technical solution for the space, ensuring an excellent final result.
Installed Equipment
To ensure a modern and efficient audiovisual setup, three Canon CR-N300 PTZ cameras were installed, operated via the Canon RC-IP1000 controller. Video mixing is handled by the Blackmagic ATEM SDI Extreme ISO, while content recording is performed by the Blackmagic Hyperdeck Studio HD Mini. In addition, a full sound system was implemented, including an Allen & Heath QU16 digital audio mixer, a new sound amplification system, desktop microphones, and monitors for real-time monitoring during sessions. For the visual experience, a 100-inch display, desktop monitors, and a digital lectern with a 43-inch screen were installed.
Technological Advantages
The Canon CR-N300 PTZ cameras offer outstanding 4K image quality, ensuring sharp and detailed video. With automatic tracking, they allow precise framing of participants without the need for manual adjustments. Their smooth movements and advanced remote control also enable efficient operation without the need for physical camera operators.
The Canon RC-IP1000 controller stands out for its versatility and professional features. It allows the creation of custom presets, full configuration of PTZ cameras, and includes a touch screen with real-time video monitoring, ensuring fast and intuitive adjustments.
The Blackmagic ATEM SDI Extreme ISO excels in its ability to mix multiple video sources. Thanks to its advanced live production and simultaneous recording/streaming features, it provides a smooth and high-quality workflow, enabling the broadcasting and recording of events with a high visual standard. It also allows direct control of all auditorium displays — including the 100-inch screen, desktop monitors, and the 43-inch digital lectern monitor — centralizing content management in one system.
Enhanced Sound Quality
The modernization included the Allen & Heath QU16 digital audio mixer, known for its intuitive operation, superior sound quality, and advanced mixing capabilities. With built-in effects and seamless integration with other systems, it ensures clear and balanced audio for all meetings and events.
The new sound amplification system, combined with desktop microphones and monitor speakers, significantly improves audio capture and distribution, delivering a more immersive and productive experience for all participants.
Visual and Interactive Solutions
To enhance the visual and interactive experience, the auditorium was equipped with a 100-inch monitor — ideal for impactful presentations — and a digital lectern with a 43-inch display. The integration of all monitors with the Blackmagic ATEM SDI Extreme ISO allows centralized and efficient content control, making presentations and broadcasts more dynamic and streamlined.

Pantalha was responsible for the entire installation, configuration, and user training, delivering a turnkey project that fully met UGT’s needs.
