RTP sought to replace its two distinct intercom systems. The goal was to have a single integrated system that could serve the various service areas of buildings in Lisbon, from continuity, to TV studios to the technical center, among many others. The system would have to respond to a list of more than 200 technical requirements.

Presently implementing and integrating this system, RTP will have RTS ADAM-M digital routers with close to 300 ports for internal traffic. This number has the ability to expand to a total of more than 800 digital ports at any given time. In terms of panels, the proposed solution chose to feature more than 50 32-keys panels RTS KP5032, more than 40 16-keys panels RTS KP3016, with the addition of the RTS DKP3016 desktop panels, as well as the RTS EKP4016 expansion panels. All these panels allow an extremely personalized configuration, dedicated to communications between the main departments where they are installed, but at any time allowing to load a different layout or receiver for emergency situations or outside what would be the normal workflow of each department.

 

To more easily integrate with pre-existing equipment at RTP's facilities, RTS and Pantalha have also proposed a variety of additional MADI, VoIP and even analogue cards. These additional connections, as well as the connectivity between the routers, will allow RTP to make use of all the equipment already existing in their buildings, and even integrate intercom equipment from other delegations such as Porto or the Azores. It will now be possible to control and configure everything from a single workstation!

It was also necessary to reinforce its system of Beltpacks and Access Points for mobile teams, which could be connected to the Adam-M routers in order to make it more dynamic and versatile, allowing that at any time a coordinator in the control room or continuity could contact a production assistant or a cameraman, for example. The solution proposed includes more than 20 RTS AP-1800 Access Points at strategic points along the two buildings of RTP Lisboa, so that the more than 20 RTS TR-1800 Beltpacks can remain in constant communication and access, without noticing when goes from one Access Point to the next.

Foi necessário também reforçar o seu sistema de Beltpacks e Access Points das equipas móveis, que se pudesse ligar às matrizes Adam-M de forma a torná-lo mais dinâmico e versátil, permitindo que a qualquer momento um coordenador na régie ou continuidade pudesse contactar um assistente de produção ou um câmara, por exemplo. A solução encontrada inclui mais de 20 Access Points RTS AP-1800 em pontos estratégicos ao longo dos dois edifícios da RTP Lisboa, para que os mais de 20 Beltpacks RTS TR-1800 possam manter-se em comunicação e acesso constante, sem se notar quando se passa de um Acess Point para o seguinte.
